Student Life

The iSchool firmly believes that a well-educated student is one who pursues interests outside of the classroom. Creating ways for adolescents to connect to their school - through sports, extracurricular activities, and meaningful relationships with faculty - is a priority for the iSchool, as these connections are critically important for adolescents' development as students and human beings.

At the iSchool, our Advisory program serves as each student's primary support system, while extracurricular opportunities in athletics, the arts, and community-building enable students to pursue their passions. In addition to PSAL sports, the iSchool offers after school clubs including: Black Student Union, Gender Sexuality Alliance, Model UN, College Peer Leaders, Jazz Band, Anime Pop Club, Architecture Club, Theater Club, Creative Writing Club, Women's Social Justice Club, and the iCare Community Service Club.

Additionally, through a weekly "Programs and Opportunities" email compiled by our Assistant Principal, students remain informed about the many amazing programs NYC has to offer.  Some of the programs iSchool students have participated in include: Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), The Opportunity Network, Girls Write Now, Minds Matter, Row New York, The Possibility Project, NYU/Columbia Law Program, Cooper Union Saturday and Summer Art Programs, and the Sadie Nash Leadership Program.
